“Lord, make me an Instrument of your Peace”: A Franciscan Approach to 12-Step Spirituality

Many people believe that 12-step spirituality has a lot to teach us about how best to live these days, and Franciscan Father Ed Shea, OFM, is one of those people.

Fr. Shea created his retreat ‘“Lord, make me an Instrument of your Peace”:  A Franciscan Approach to 12-Step Spirituality’  based on the belief that 12-step spirituality is God's gift to the 20th and 21st centuries. He has spent most of his priesthood in parish work in the Chicagoland area and has seen first hand how 12-step spirituality can help people who are seeking happiness and stability.

Based on the work of Richard Rohr, OMF, Shea’s program reviews concepts such as the Four Commandments of Contentment, and how following a 12-step program can help those looking to re-commit themselves to a healthy and happy life.
