Professional combat choreographers coach stage combat moves. Stage weapon masters showcase the very weapons created for stage and set productions – from Roman swords to ravishing rapiers. A movie writer shares script writing secrets. A yoga teacher who also worked in the film industry teaches neutral body posture exercises to help success on and off the stage. A professional stand-up comedian teaches improvisational comedy for your teen. Add laughter, theater games, acting skill and physicality development! Voila!

For teenagers’ ages 12-19 interested in spending a fun Saturday, the LATTE Theater Acting Workshop is coming up soon. Professionals from the theater are taking their time to make a difference to teens. Mike Ostrowski, Rachel Stubbs, Neil Massey, John Paulett, Felicia Pfluger are the instructors for this terrific event. Kyle Donnelly and Alyssa Pfluger, LATTE Alumni assist as well.

Whether just exploring theater, looking to hone skills, or preparing for the auditions that follow for the fall show, teens will benefit from this great opportunity.

LATTE, in its 8th year in LaGrange, has had a blast serving a very specific niche in the community. This Montessori meets Socratic meets mentoring theater program empowers teens to explore their talents in new and unique ways. The mission of this nonprofit is to educate teens in the combined mediums of theater arts and leadership development.

Members of the teen ensemble can explore diverse theater areas. Teens, in the past, have: directed, assistant directed, choreographed, done costuming produced scripts that were used in encore performances, done set design.  They designed artwork for the posters, created props, and of course, acted up a storm! Whatever the opportunity, the focus is on mentoring, education, and empowerment.

The spring LATTE workshop has sign in start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 2nd with a brief signup, acting games, and parent meeting. Sessions start at 10:00 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. Auditions follow for the fall performance from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. Please bring a sack lunch.

For all this, the cost is $30.

Please call 708-655-0989 to reserve your spot.

The workshop takes place at 20 North Ashland, LaGrange, Illinois. LATTE holds no political or religious affiliations, the First Baptist Church of LaGrange kindly hosts LATTE and the artists in residence.
