La Grange Park Snow Storm Total is Highest in Chicago Area: Update

The National Weather Service gives us a gold medal when it comes to this winter storm.

Eleven inches of snow buried La Grange Park by 7:20 p.m. Tuesday—the highest 12-hour storm total in the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.

Elburn came in second at 10 inches, while Yorkville placed third with 9.3 inches.

We decided to see for ourselves how the snowfall stacked up in La Grange with our trusty Barbie barometer, and sure enough, it's nose deep.

Editor's note: This story originally said La Grange Park had the third highest snow total in the area, but that was accounting for the total snow depth—not just what fell today. We totally won when it comes to this storm.
