Savvy parents know where to shop for like-new, high-quality children’s merchandise: the Cossitt Clothing Sale! This spring's installment takes place at Cossitt School in La Grange on Saturday, March 1 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In fall and spring, dozens of parent volunteers transform the school gym into a huge clothing bazaar, with racks upon racks of high-quality clothing in sizes infant to 14, tables of gently-used shoes, rows of strollers and bikes and a room full of baby equipment.
This year, sellers can register online, making it even easier to turn clutter into cash. They'll keep 60% of proceeds, with the remainder to benefit the Cossitt PTC. There are three ways to get involved in this year’s spring sale:
Sell: The first 400 interested sellers can register online from February 10-25 at cossittptc.org/clothingsale. Optional technical assistance is available at the La Grange Public Library on February 19 from 10 am–2 pm and 5-7 pm. Registered sellers can drop off their items at the Cossitt School Gymnasium on February 27 from 5-8:30 pm, or February 28 from 9 am–1 pm. Items may be marked for donation if they don’t sell. All unsold items not marked for donation must be picked up by 2 pm on March 2.
Buy: The line forms just before 8 a.m. on the day of the sale. Children are permitted only between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Many items are marked to half-off during the last hour of the sale, and cash or check (with identification only) are accepted.
