Youth Sports Classes through the Community Park District

Fall is on the way and the Community Park District of La Grange Park is offering a ton of great sports classes for children of all ages.  Sign up for classes through the Recreation Center, 1501 Barnsdale Rd., La Grange Park.  Additional information on classes can be found by visiting www.cpdlgp.org.

Flag Football will focus on safety and skills preparation for the first two weeks and prior to games. Players will learn football through fundamentals and experience individual and team competitive drills to develop skills. Beginning in week three, 55 minute games will be played.  Classes are for children 6-14 years old and meet at Hanesworth Park (26th and Barnsdale Rd., La Grange Park) on Saturdays from 9-10:15 am (6-8 yr. olds) and 10:15-11:30 am (9-14 yr. olds), Sept 7th – Oct 12th.  Cost is $81/resident, $91/non-resident.

The LTSC Mini Soccer Academy will focus on fun and player development while utilizing experienced professional Lyons Township Soccer Club coaches who know how to create a fun environment and develop a love of soccer. Classes are for children 6-8 years old and meet at Hanesworth Park (26th and Barnsdale Rd., La Grange Park) on Thursdays from 5-6pm, Sept 12th – Oct 10th.  Cost is $45/resident, $55/non-resident.

Kids First Track and Field focuses on teaching sprints, hurdles, jumps, distance running, and throws in a safe and fundamental way. A wide variety of timed events will take place each day, with an event championship series on the final day. Classes meet at Hanesworth Park (26th and Barnsdale Rd., La Grange Park) on Saturday mornings, Sept 14th – Oct 12th. Ages break up 5-6 yr. olds (9-10am), 7-9 yr. olds (10-11am), and 10-14 yr. olds (11-12pm).   Cost is $69/resident, $79/non-resident.
