Youth Sports Classes through the Community Park District

Summer is finally here and the Community Park District of La Grange Park is offering some great sports classes for children of all ages. Sign up for classes through the Recreation Center, 1501 Barnsdale Rd., La Grange Park. Additional information on classes can be found by visiting www.cpdlpg.org or by calling 708.354.4580.

Basketball Camp offers kids techniques on shooting, dribbling, passing, speed and quickness, body balance, floor spacing, safety awareness, and sportsmanship through skill contests and game play. Classes are for children 6-14 years old and meet at Memorial Park (LaGrange Rd and Woodlawn, La Grange Park) Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, June 10-13. Cost is $120/resident, $130/non-resident.

Bumper Bowling guarantees all kids a chance to knock down pins without ever getting a gutter ball! This is a great way to learn to bowl and have a blast doing it. Fee includes shoe rental. Classes are for children 4-6 years old and meet at Eden Lanes (10159 Cermak Road, Hillside) on Wednesdays from 10-11am, June 12 – July 17 (skip July 3). Cost is $40/resident, $50/non-resident.

Bowling is a great morning activity full of strikes and spares for children 7-13 years old. Classes meet on Wednesdays from 10-11 am from June 12-July 17 (skip July 3rd) at Eden Lanes (10159 Cermak Road, Hillside). Cost is $47/resident, $57/ non-resident.

Cheerleading offers children the physical fitness, self-confidence and fun that cheerleading skills and up-to-date dance routines with pom pons can provide. In the event of rain, class will be cancelled. Classes are for children in grades 1st through 4th and meet at Memorial Park Multi-Surface Court (LaGrange Rd and Woodlawn, La Grange Park) on Fridays from 9-10:30 am, June 14 – July 19 (skip July 5). Cost is $20/resident, $30/non-resident.
