Warming Tree

It is with great pleasure to announce that the Community Park District of LaGrange Park will be once again collecting food items and outerwear accessories to help local families in need.  Last year we collected over 300 items on our “Warming Tree” and about 10 full boxes of food pantry items.

Donations of hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and socks will be hung on the “Warming Tree”, located at the Community Park District Recreation Center, located in LaGrange Park at 1501 Barnsdale Road.  All items collected will be given to the LaGrange Community Nurse Health Association for distribution to families in need.  The Park District is also gathering food items and paper products for the St. Francis Food Pantry in LaGrange, which provides food to LaGrange and LaGrange Park residents in need.  All food donations must be non-perishable and not past the expiration date.  Paper towels, tissues, disposable diapers, pasta, pasta sauce, and peanut butter are especially welcome.

“Last year was such a success.  We were so touched by the community’s thoughtfulness that we wanted to do this project again and make it a yearly event for our organization”, said Park District Executive Director Roy Cripe.
