COMMUNITY PARK DISTRICT GETS YOUTH CORP GRANT

Governor Quinn announced recently that the Community Park District of La Grange Park is the recipient of a $3,195 grant from the Illinois Youth Recreation Corps Program. The money is being used by the Park District to expand a Park Patrol program started last year. Park Patrol employees work evenings and weekends to perform light park maintenance work, lend assistance to park rental groups, and to monitor park patron activity. The program will end August 31st.

The Illinois Youth Recreation Corps Program was established for making grants to local governments and not for profit entities to provide wages to youth ages 16 – 19 years. After being tabled for a year the program was reinstated this year.
