Last night, the Citizen’s Council finished hearing from the candidates seeking election for the Library Board and Park District. In a closed meeting, the Council discussed each candidate before sending it to a vote.
The issues that were discussed by the Library Board candidates focused on the ability of the library to be technologically advanced as its end users; to meet the evolving needs and demands of the community; to satisfy the maintenance requirements of its building and property; and to provide more parking.
The Park District candidate’s discussion focused on the improvements made to the Park District during his 8-year tenure, the continuing need for a healthy dialogue to understand what the community’s needs are and the need to further improve and enhance the Park District’s facilities, properties and programs.
After a thorough review of applications and interview process, the Council slated Becky Spratford (incumbent), Bill Coffee (incumbent), Mary Nelson (incumbent) and Tim Kelpsas. In addition, the Council slated Bob Ashby for one of the open commissioner positions on the Park District Board. It is their commitment to the community, a cumulative 50 years, and the experience they bring to the Library Board and the Park District Board that can ensure that the citizens of La Grange have solid infrastructures that help keep the community thriving.
The next slating session is scheduled for Wednesday, November 28th @ 7:00 PM at Village Hall. The slating will be for (1) Village President and three Village Trustees. More information about the Council and the candidates can be found at: www.lgcitizenscouncil.org
Maybe Jim Boo would say something like this: "Remove this post with my name as the submitter. A spineless person would use someone else's name, not their own. FYI, I did not apply or run for a position in 2011, how could I not get "picked". Your comment from, "I also heard" is absurd. How could I ask people to apply to a board at a meeting where I was a spectator? Why don't you run a write as a write in candidate, and let us know who you are?" Nah...probably not. If he posted something like above, he would go back and delete any seemingly angry behavior only a few days later. Anyone Else But Boo.
