New Memorial Day Parade Route
Families planning on attending the Memorial Day Parade in Western Springs- please be aware of the new route.
In a move that focuses on safety issues, the planning committee for the Western Springs Memorial Day Parade have coordinated with village officials and the Western Springs Police Department to change the route of the parade. In previous years, the parade started near Spring Rock Park and proceeded East on Burlington then cross over the track to the tower green. There is a change for 2013.
The Memorial Day Parade will now start on Hillgrove and Prospect, travel East on Hillgrove to Grand, North on Grand to Chestnut, Chestnut East to Lawn, South on Lawn to the Tower Green.
As in previous years, following the parade will be a few words by this years Grand Marshall, Melissa Ventrone- Captain, United States Marine Corps Reserves, patriotic music and songs by the West Suburban Band and Tower Choral, a reading of the names of the fallen by Jake Wittenberg and Lisa McGovern ( both LT seniors).

The planning committee - comprised of members of the local VFW, continue to invite all veterans to join in the walk of the parade.
