Renowned Hand and Arm Surgeon Joins Loyola's Orthopaedic Team at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital

Kenneth L. Schiffman, MD, world-renowned hand and arm surgeon, has joined Loyola University Health System. He will bring his surgical expertise and patient-centered approach to Loyola’s Orthopaedic team at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park. He also is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

“I am excited to be bringing my career full circle by returning to Loyola where I received my training and began practicing orthopaedic surgery,” said Schiffman.

Ranked as one of Chicago’s Top Doctors by his peers in Chicago Magazine, Schiffman specializes in complex injuries of the hand, arm and shoulder. His other medical interests include shoulder and elbow arthroscopy, shoulder and elbow replacement, disorders of the hand and arm and carpel tunnel release.

Schiffman is a member of the American Medical Association, America Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, American Association for Hand Surgery, Chicago Society of Surgery of the Hand and Illinois Orthopedic Society.

He earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Fla. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. He completed fellowships in orthopaedic trauma at Sunnybrook Medical Centre in Toronto, Canada, and hand and upper extremity surgery at Princess Margaret Rose Hospital in Edinburgh, Scottland.
