Photos: La Grange Park Tree Lighting and Holiday Walk

A chilly night, but good attendance at La Grange Park's annual Holiday Walk and Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Another successful La Grange Park Holiday Walk is in the bag. Residents explored local businesses in the Village Market, counted down a Village tree lighting ceremony and sampled some of the best chili in the western suburbs on a cold Friday night.

"This is what our community is all about," said Village President Jim Discipio. "This is families getting together and celebrating the holiday spirit."

I caught up with Village Manager Julia Cedillo at after the tree lighting too, and she wholeheartedly agreed that the event was great for village businesses and residents alike.

"It's why we do this," Cedillo said. "We want to show off all the local businesses here and get people to come out."

Village Market businesses like , and Phillips Flowers were all getting into the holiday spirit with special deals and the opportunity to show off their wares.
