Nicksons Lobster Fest Brings Maine Speciality to Town for Limited Time

The La Grange restaurant's third annual Lobster Fest began Tuesday and culminates Saturday with an Alley Bash. There's lobster specials and live music every night this week.

Get your bibs ready, lobster fans.

Nicksons Eatery in La Grange is celebrating its third annual Lobster Fest this week, featuring a variety of dishes with imported Maine lobster and live entertainment every night this week.

"We're an all-Americana restaurant," Nicksons partner Rich Baca said. "What a better thing thing than to bring the Maine lobster in here?"

Lobster Fest features several lobster-centric dishes, with the seafood imported from Kennebunkport, ME. Baca said he didn't know exactly how many lobsters the restaurant gets, but said it's "thousands."

"It's been a hit. Every year it gets bigger," he said. "People are crazy for lobster."

The event began Tuesday and culminates Saturday, July 20, with an Alley Bash, in which Nicksons will close off its adjacent alley to offer additional seating, live music and a beer truck.

Every other night, patrons can hear live music and try the menu, which features a whole split Maine lobster dinner, a creamy spicy lobster cobb salad, a lobster roll and lobster bisque.

A lobster martini will also be served, featuring reduced lobster broth, and craft beer pairings include New Belgium's Rolle Bolle and Lakefront's Wisconsinite.

Nicksons is located at 30 S. La Grange Rd. Write a review here
