Ice Cream Tainted With Nuts Recalled from Aldi Stores

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough may affect nut-allergy sufferers. Return the cartons to any Aldi store.

A popular flavor of ice cream sold in many local Aldi stores is being voluntarily recalled by House of Flavors because it may contain nuts.

The Michigan-based manufacturer issued a statement today saying that Belmont Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream is being recalled because it may contain a nut that’s not declared on the label and may place some individuals with nut allergies at risk.

The ice cream was shipped only to stores in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, the company said. The recall responded to complaints from two people who had allergic reactions.
