La Grange's newest yogurt shop should be open in the next few weeks.

Franchesee Sam Sheth and his cousin, Samar Sheth, on Feb. 8 will open their second Forever Yogurt store at 71 S. La Grange Rd. in downtown La Grange.

The two cousins, who also work as pharmacists, found Forever Yogurt two years ago, when researching potential business ventures to pursue. "We did our research and finally decided it (Forever Yogurt) would be a good fit for the Chicago market because it's a Chicago-based company," Sam Sheth said.

They originally looked to Naperville, but couldn't open a second store in the same community, he said. They started looking at other communities and decided on another family-oriented area: La Grange. They also opened a Forever Yogurt in Logan Square five months ago.

Sheth said he thinks Forever Yogurt carries a "premium product." While researching the business, he said he and his cousin went to other yogurt shops to try their products to compare, and noticed that, unlike Forever Yogurt, many businesses use powder to create the yogurt.

The store was originally slated to open in July, Forever Yogurt co-founder Mandy Calara told Patch in a previous interview.

Calara said that Forever Yogurt tries to stay away from the stereotypical, sterile feel of most yogurt shops, “We try and really create a brand and an ambiance where people enjoy coming,” she said.

Sheth said he and his cousin also liked the Forever Yogurt model that didn't resemble a "box-type" store.

"If you go to any store, it resembles the community," Sheth said. "That's why we really loved it—because there were different details to go with the community."

He said unique features in the La Grange store include a chalkboard wall for kids, a private party area at the back of the space.

"When we were researching... We saw a lot of moms walking with kids," Sheth said. "I think they will like it... We try to create something positive for moms (and) kids of all ages."

Sheth said the 2,300-square-foot store will have 10 machines with about 30 different flavors.
