Sale Of Former Rich Port YMCA Site in La Grange Approved
The YMCA Board of Trustees and Board of Managers each voted last week to approve the bid that's somewhere "in the neighborhood of $9 million," from Opus Development Company to redevelop the former Rich Port YMCA site, located at 31 E. Ogden Ave. in La Grange, according to a news release from the YMCA of Metro Chicago.
Yelp's Top 5 Italian Restaurants in La Grange, Western Springs: Do You Agree?
After Western Springs' Davanti Enoteca was named in Zata's latest "Top Italian Restaurants in Chicago" list, we thought we'd see who in the area can serve some mean Italian cuisine with the best of them, according to Yelp! reviewers. Surprisingly, Lucca's Pizzeria & Ristorante in La Grange was at the top of the list.
Dominick's to Leave La Grange Area
It appears that within a year Dominick's will be no more. The Chicago Tribune reports that the grocery store's parent company, Safeway, wants to pull out of the Chicago market within the year. As competition from both higher-end and discount grocery stores mount, the chain has been losing its share of the market, according to the report. Zagat: Davanti Enoteca Among Chicago's 'Top Italian Restaurants'
The latest "Top Italian Restaurants in Chicago" list was released by Zagat on Oct. 15, and Davanti Enoteca Western Springs is among the six eateries mentioned.
Q BBQ to Open Chicago Location
The popular suburban restaurant Q BBQ is headed to the Windy City, opening its first Chicago location in Lake View, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. Q-BBQ opened in 2009 after many years of traveling the U.S, trying BBQ around America. Since then, they have been featured on several Chicago TV shows and news stations. Q-BBQ received a Michelin-Designation in 2012-2013 and have a second store in Naperville, IL. They are currently opening their third store in Chicago, IL (Lakeview). Antonino's Ristorante Celebrates 25th Anniversary in La Grange
Antonino's Ristorante, 701 Hillgrove Ave. has been celebrating its 25-year anniversary in La Grange this month with discounts, music, dancing and of course, Italian food. The eatery is owned by Tony Genna and his wife, Kathy, who named the restaurant after their son, and use Tony's mother's recipes that game straight from Sicily, the Doings La Grange reports.
Aveda Opens Blow Out Bar in La Grange
Aveda Salon in downtown has a new service: The Blow Out Bar. The service, open for just less than a month at the La Grange Road salon, costs $22 for a shampoo/conditioner and a blow-dry and style.
