ComEd: Significant Grid Improvements to be Made in La Grange

ComEd says they will be making significant improvements to the electrical grid in La Grange soon.

As part of the Illinois Energy Infrastructure Modernization Act approved last year in the fall, ComEd will begin making significant improvements to the electrical grid in La Grange, according to a press release from the company.

ComEd said that it hopes it will provide new ways for consumers to save on their energy bills and also improve system reliability.

La Grange residents will surely appreciate improvements to the system. resulted in significant blackouts in La Grange and La Grange Park for days, and nearly a week in some cases.

In the first quarter of 2012, ComEd said it would focus on grid enhancements in La Grange that will, "improve performance and reduce service interruptions."

ComEd will be continuing upgrades throughout 2012 that will replace or reinforce utility poles in 15 locations and install over 2,000 feet of spacer cable to overhead lines. ComEd said these repairs would help keep power on in areas with heavy tree coverage.
