Adventist Files to Build Rehab Unit in La Grange

The 16-bed facility would replace a rehab facility at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital that was investigated by the Illinois Attorney General's office for not being accessible to people with disabilities.

Adventist Midwest Health is seeking to build an inpatient rehabilitation unit in La Grange as part of a settlement into an investigation of why its Hinsdale facility was not accessible to people with disabilities, Crain’s Chicago Business is reporting.

The hospital filed applications just before Christmas for a 16-bed, $2.3-million facility in La Grange that would be finished in February 2015, Crain’s reports. The move stems from a 2010 investigation by the Illinois Attorney General’s office into the 15-bed unit at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.
