LT Principal David Franson Leaving After 10 Years

Lyons Township High School seeking new principal for the 2014-15 school year.

Lyons Township High School District 204 is seeking a new principal to replace David Franson, who will step down next year after 10 years at his post as principal, The Doings Western Springs reported Wednesday.

District 204 Superintendent Tim Kilrea told the Doings Franson is the, "epitome of a professional, an excellent educator, always an advocate for kids."

The school has posted the position of principal on its website, which the district plans to fill for the 2014-15 school year. The new principal would start his or her 12-month position July 1, 2014. 

Kilrea told the Doings a committee of staff, students and parents will review applicants. The deadline to apply is Thursday, Oct. 31. 

Franson told the paper that when he leaves LT, he plans to travel, take classes and volunteer.
