La Grange Craft Show: Your Complete Guide

Nearly 200 craftsmen will be featuring their wares this weekend in the 39th Annual La Grange Craft Show.

The show will look a little different this year, thanks to a new organizer: Craft Productions Inc., which also coordinates the Geneva and Hinsdale craft shows.

“We’ve made an effort to bring in new (craftsmen) so the show is evolving and changing from what we’ve had in the past,” said Nancy Cummings, of the La Grange Business Association, which sponsors the show.

With all the new exhibitors comes a renewed focus on handmade wares, she said. Each craftsmen will display his or her work in a 10-by-10 foot booth.

Two of the craftsmen come from La Grange, including jeweler Patricia Hatchenberg and stained glass artist Ruth Kopala. Jeweler Dorn Cheske is from La Grange Park.

The show will also provide a boost to local businesses. Shoppers can pick up VIP Customer Cards several locations throughout the show that entitle them to discounts and special offers Saturday and Sunday at La Grange retailers, Cummings said. Those who present the VIP card when making a purchase at a participating business will also be entered into a raffle.

Location: Downtown Business District, with food vendors located along Harris and La Grange Road

Hours: 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday
