IHP Octogenarian Remembers Husband Through His Sculpture Garden

The Lithuanian couple were married for 60 years; the man's artwork is now preserved in a photo book published by a neighbor.

The myriad works of Zigmas Brazis, a sculptor who passed away in 2010, remain a daily reminder of him to his wife as they sit in his widow Valentia’s Indian Head Park backyard; though many are in decay, they will be preserved in a new photo book published by a neighbor, The Doings Western Springs reports.

Neighbor Rebecca Minton, an art therapist at Glenoaks Therapeutic Day School, put together the book as “something [Valentia] can take with her” if she must ever leave the house and its sculptures, the paper said.

The Bravis couple immigrated from Lithuania before World War II.
