La Grange Area Historical Society - A Century of Hats Exhibit

The La Grange Area Historical Society’s “A Century of Hats,” exhibit is open to the public until the end of October.  It  features hats that date from 1880 through the 1970s!  These hats have been worn for weddings, graduations, gardening, sleeping and every other sort of occasion.  Gorgeous hatpins, beaded purses, and Pinchbeck jewelry from the late 1800s are included in this wonderful display that fills every nook and cranny of the museums’ lower level.  The exhibit can be viewed on Wednesdays from 9:30 until noon and the last Sunday of each month from 1PM to 4PM.  Groups may schedule a special appointment by calling the museum at 708-482-4248.
