Rocktoberfest: Bands, Beer, Brats and Bags

Gordon Park will be rocking Saturday night when Rocktoberfest takes over the park once again.

If you like listening to live bands, playing bags, drinking beer and eating brats, then Gordon Park, Ogden and Tilden avenues, is the place to be Saturday. Rocktoberfest will be rocking once again to benefit the , which provides comprehensive, quality health care and supportive services to lower-income and uninsured residents of the western suburbs of Chicago.

Festivities will be held from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Rocktoberfest will start off with The Bad Dads from 5 to 6:15 p.m. Next up is Jerrys Dawg from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. and finishing up the live music is Infinity from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Food will be available for purchase from the following vendors:

Tacos, burritos and nachos
Famous pizza slices
Brats and hot dogs
LGPOD Snack Shack: Soft pretzels and popcorn
: Pie

There will be a bags tournament with 24 teams of two competing for $100 cash prize. Cost to enter the tournament is $25 per team.

New this year is the Celeb Bartenders who will compete for the Rocker of the Year trophy. The celebrity bartender who receives the most tips will be the winner. The line-up of celebs pouring beer is:

5–5:30 p.m.: Wendy Schneider, WLS 890AM on-air personality, and hubbie Jimmy Mac, a WLS production director;

5:30–6 p.m.: Ben Bradley, ABC7 news reporter/anchor;

6-6:30 p.m. Mary Tavegia, everyone’s favorite principal at Cossitt School (except those kids who got in trouble!);

6:30-7 p.m.: Bob Biaggi, lead singer of Infinity;

7–7:30 p.m.: Ross Bartolomei, owner and makeover king at Salon Hype;

7:30–8 p.m.: Kevin Guilfoil, La Grange author of The Thousand and Cast of Shadows;

8–8:30 p.m.: Troy Murray, radio broadcaster and former player, Chicago Blackhawks

8:30-9 p.m.: John Williams, Radio 720WGN

9-9:30 p.m.: Rich Bacca, owner and creative force from Nicksons

9:30–10 p.m.: The Bad Dads band members

Tickets are available at the event. General admission tickets are $10 and the Rocker All Access VIP Passes are $50. The VIP passes includes admission, three bands, choice of food from vendors, two drink tickets, keepsake beer stein, reserved seating and Rock Star parking. Only 500 VIP tickets are available.
