3rd Annual Blues and Jazz Fest Comes to La Grange Park on Friday

La Grange Park will be red, hot and blue on Friday, Sept. 14 from 6-11 p.m.

The Community Park District of La Grange Park brings cool jazz and funky blues to the village on the evening of Friday, Sept. 14. returns to from 6-11 p.m. with music, food and cool cars. Best of all, it's free!

The Music:

Local act, the John Chadwick Trio, kicks off the evening from 6-7 p.m. The Rockin' Johnny Burgin Band takes the stage next from 7:15-8:45 p.m. Closing out the night will be Funbrella (formerly known as Thick Stix and comprised of Lyons Township High School Alumni) will take the stage starting at 9 p.m.

The Food:

There's no need to eat before this event. On hand will be numerous vendors including: karmel korn/cotton candy tent, Chase Events will be manning the grill and selling brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas and shaved ice, the Ready Teddy Preschool will be hosting a candy store for those with a sweet tooth, and a beer tent sponsored by the La Grange Park Little League. You'll need to bring proper ID in order to purchase alcohol at the event, of course.

The Cars:

No, not the band—there's plenty of music already. Car enthusiasts will once again be showing off their stuff at a "Cruise In" throughout the event. The Cruise In is open to anyone that would like to participate, although, a cool car is pretty much required. As a bonus for showing up and displaying your sweet ride, the first 50 car exhibitors will get two free drink tickets.

Note: although it really is a car event, we hear that last year some people showed up on some sweet vintage bikes and proudly showed those off too.
