1,000 Voices Sing as One in Tribute to the Troops

La Grange area residents will join together on Nov. 15 as a 1000-voice chorus pays tribute to American troops in "America: A Tribute to Heroes Past, Present and Future."

Inspired by members of Congress singing patriotic anthems together on the steps of the Capital following the tragic events on Sept. 11, a group of locals is looking to recreate that moment in La Grange.

On Nov. 15, a 1,000-voice chorus will come together at , 600 W. 55th St., for a stirring tribute to the troops titled, .

The local concert was conceived by Bob Boyd and Jane Ewing, of music department; Justin Sisul, music director at St. Cletus Parish; and Steve Palmer of in La Grange.

In particular, this event will pay tribute to LT alumni and U.S. Marine,. Misiewicz graduated from LT in 2006, joined the Marines and was sent to Afghanistan. He was seriously injured while serving and is currently recovering at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland. At the concert, staff will be accepting free will offerings to help support his family and their mounting expenses.

The event will begin with a prelude concert at 7 p.m. and will follow with a community sing-along at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
