Stupid Pet Tricks on Snow Day No. 2

Boredom set in at my house so we resorted to the cats entertaining us.

TWO for —I’m still in shock! Although, the snow days were kind of a blessing at my house since my high school age son is suffering from a cold.

On Wednesday, I spent three hours shoveling, snow blowing, and sweeping my driveway and sidewalks. The snow drifts were out of control but I am now able to get out of my garage and down the driveway.

By Thursday, my house was in desperate need of cleaning so I decided to do some deep cleaning. I pulled out my trusty Dyson vacuum cleaner and started getting rid of dust that has settled everywhere. However, I forgot to do one thing: put our cat, Ollie, in kitty time-out. Ollie LOVES the vacuum cleaner and when the attachments are on he insists on getting vacuumed. (If I want to vacuum in peace, I have to lock him up.) But, on snow day No. 2, I decided to indulge Ollie and take a video of the sight. It’s not the best video (view it to the right of this article) but you can see how he adores the Dyson.

The same day, the newest member of our cat family, Lexus Leonardo, better known as LL Cool Cat, was being pretty entertaining as well. He is a 5-year-old Bengal that thinks he’s a dog who we recently adopted from Catnap from the Heart, 1101 Beach Ave. At the same time, he’s a very large cat who thinks he’s a lap cat. Try typing with 18 pounds sitting in your lap every morning.

Lexus like to fetch just about anything. His favorite is a purple bow that he stole off of a present. It’s seen better days but he loves it. I caught him playing with it and took some video (also to the right of this article.) Although he didn’t play fetch, you can see him picking it up in his mouth and walking. One day, I will catch him on tape carrying a Snuggie that is still in its wrapper. The Snuggie is approximately 12 inches by 12 inches and he carries it up two flights of stairs in his mouth. The poor package now has multiple bite marks and will soon fall apart. It is a sight to see, though.

I hope your snow days were more fun than cleaning and stupid pet tricks. Man, the Kapugis sure know how to have fun!
