Western Springs Tower Trot for 'Bear Necessities' Kicks Off Saturday

There is still time for runners and walkers to register for the 2014 Western Springs Tower Trot featuring 5K and 10K races this Saturday, May 24.


Run or walk through the village’s beautiful residential streets on Saturday, May 24, for the Western Springs Tower Trot.

Two races will be offered for runners and walkers: 10K (8:30 a.m.) and 5K (9:30 a.m.). There will also be a fun run of less than a mile for children under 10 (8:45 a.m.).

The START and FINISH lines are at Forest Hills School at 5020 Central in Western Springs. This is a CARA-certified race.

Donations made on the entry form will go to Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, improve the quality of life for pediatric cancer patients and their families, and for pediatric cancer research.

Register for the Tower Trot by May 22 at the Western Springs Recreation Center, 1500 Walker St.

Registrations will also be taken the day of the race, May 24, at Forest Hills School.
