Mild, Breezy, Slightly Warmer Week Ahead

As predicted, temperatures crashed on Friday (even more than we thought!); but they'll rebound a bit this coming week even as windchill picks up.

Fun fact of the day: the shedding of leaves by trees in fall is called "abscission," and, of course, it happens whether or not an autumn wind kicks up. But when that wind does get its dander up—as it looks like it will this week—those leaves can start falling a heck of a lot faster.

So break out your rakes, people of Lyons Township, and prep for some colorful abscission all over your lawns. There's some good news: you probably won't freeze while raking. It got pretty cold on Friday and Saturday this past week, but it'll be warmer again for the next week. Except Wednsday. Don't schedule your raking for Wednesday. Or Saturday, which looks like it might be wet.
