Meet Your New Patch Editors

We'll be providing you the latest news and information about La Grange and Western Springs in a whole new way and can't wait to help you get even more involved in your community.

Starting today you’re going to begin seeing two new faces around La Grange and Western Springs Patch.

Lauren Williamson and Michael Sewall come to the sites after more than two years working with Patch in other communities and are beyond excited to begin bringing you the latest news and information in an area that they can truly call home.

Lauren has lived in La Grange for more than three years, but her history with the village goes back much further. She lives in the house her grandfather built in 1952 with his own hands. As a child she eagerly looked forward to the once-monthly visits to see Grandpa and eat a good Bohemian meal at Moldau in Brookfield. Her mom attended Spring Avenue School and is so enamored of it that to this day every time she passes it she joyfully declares, “That was my school!”

Lauren’s focus with Patch will be general, covering everything from the ins and outs of electrical aggregation to milestones like LTHS graduation.

Michael grew up in Western Springs and recently moved back after being away for college and work. His first job in town was delivering papers at age 10, and he's excited to be bringing people the news again! He graduated from LT in 2006, and you might remember him as the guy who called football and basketball games on WLTL and LTTV. Michael's parents also attended LT, as did his two brothers, and he has a sister there now.

Michael's focus with Patch is writing about local businesses and connecting them with Patch readers. He's excited to learn more about the places he grew up with, but has a good start. Throughout high school he worked at Vaughan's Garden Center, True Value and Yager Osborn sports apparel, and he still frequents local favorites every week.

As we transition to this new chapter we will continue to tell your stories—the personal and profound—that make your community a home.

But we can’t do it without you. What really makes Patch special is the way it captures a community’s voice—your voice. There are plenty of ways to participate:
