Cold Today, but Warm on the Way

Even with snow yesterday and some frigid weather today, a "warm" spell is in the forecast this week.

There's nothing quite like January to slap you with a reminder that it's winter.

The early morning reading today at O'Hare Airport was 14 degrees and in Aurora, a chilling 10 degrees, according to the Chicago Tribune. The high today will be only in the mid-20s, with winds at 10-15 mph making it feel even colder.

A fairly warm December may have had you forgetting what real Midwestern cold feels like, but fortunately for you, it looks like it's going to "warm" up again. I'm putting warm in quotes to remind you that a temperature reading of 38 is not actually warm—but that we're happy about it anyways.

According to the Chicago Weather Center, the rest of the week shows high temperatures from 38 to 49 degrees. If it actually hits 50 on Friday, it's going to feel like June!
