Best Bets: Family-Friendly Activities This Week

Grab the kids and go, using our weekly planner of events near La Grange and La Grange Park.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the
week. You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

• FAMILY FUN NIGHT
Where/When: 6 p.m. Friday at , 1501 Barnsdale Rd.
Why Go: Dodgeball, basketball, crafts, 3-in-1 fun jump, playground, and . Concession stand will also be available for snacks. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Pricing: $3 per child, $1 per adult.

ANNE OF GREEN GABLES
Where/When: 7:30 p.m. Friday at , 1125 Harrison Ave.
Why Go: This is an adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s novel “Anne of Green Gables.”
Pricing: $10, $5 for children.

• GNOMEO & JULIET
Where/When: Noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday at , 150 N. York St.
Why Go: Shakespeare's revered tale gets a comical, off-the-wall makeover for kids.

• ESCAPE TO THE MOVIES
Where/When: 7 p.m. Saturday at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 West 31st St.,
Oak Brook.
Why Go: Acappellago presents the magical world of movie music.
Pricing: $15 and $12.

• ALL-AMERICAN RAILROAD SHOW
Where/When: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at , 100 S Brainard Ave.
Why Go: Exhibits and displays of model .
