Seeking sponsors to support college scholarships
The Legacy Guild, a La Grange-area not-for-profit, announced today it is seeking sponsors for its 2nd annual golf outing on Friday, Oct. 18, to support college scholarships for area students who have lost a parent.
The Legacy Guild Golf Outing will be held at historic Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood. Multiple sponsorships are available from $250 for Hole Sponsorships, all the way up to $10,000 for the top sponsorship. To secure your sponsorship, register online today at www.thelegacyguild.com or email us at info@thelegacyguild.com for more information. The noon shotgun start is $200 per golfer and includes golf, food and fun for the day.
The Legacy Guild named its inaugural twelve Legacy Guild Scholars last spring who were each awarded $1,750 – a total of $21,500 in scholarships – for the 2013/2014 school year.

“We plan to continue to support these Legacy Guild Scholars annually, along with many others who will soon be of college age, and we can’t do that without ongoing support from business and civic leaders throughout this area,” said golf outing co-chair Scott Johnson of La Grange. “Unfortunately, there’s a tremendous and growing need, and we want to help these young people fulfill their dream of going to college.”
Legacy Guild Scholars must live in Lyons Township District 204 and have had a parent die while being raised in the area. While students must live in the District, they remain eligible if they attend a high school outside the District. The awards are determined by a committee based on merit and need.
