The Resource Association in Special Education in District 102 (RAiSE) will host Lisa Marsicano, M.A.T., an executive function skills specialist, who will offer a presentation focused on the use of tools/strategies to help students develop executive function skills, gain more independence, and ultimately achieve success in school. Specific topics to be discussed include: Homework Efficiency and the Homework Process, Organization, Time Management and Planning, Creating Structures and Routines, Meeting Expectations/Quality of Work Study Tips and Strategies.
Following the presentation, District 102’s Robert Condon, Director of Special Education, and Kateri Quinonez, Special Education Teacher, will present information on the Executive Functioning Skills classes offered at Park Jr. High School and give an overview of the curriculum for 7th and 8th grade students who receive services for executive functioning deficits.
The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the LRC at Park Jr. High (333 N. Park Rd., La Grange Park). All parents, teachers, and community members are invited to attend.
