VIDEO: Concert Raises Money for Kelli Joy Foundation

LION Newspaper shares video from the Aug. 24 concert to benefit the Kelli Joy O'Laughlin Memorial Fund.

Lyons Township High School's student newspaper, LION Newspaper, on Sunday shared the YouTube video from the Kelli Joy Concert, which was held late last month at LT.

The concert, which featured 14 musical acts and was attended by more than 400 people, raised an estimated $2,500 for the Kelli Joy O'Laughlin Memorial Fund, according to the memorial fund's website.

The fund was created to keep her memory alive after her untimely death in 2011.

LT sophomore Holly Quirk told the paper the concert represented O'Laughlin's joy, "She was always very happy," she said.

O'Laughlin's parents, John and Brenda, were also in attendance.

The concert represented what their daughter stood for, her love of music and the way she went about life, John O'Laughlin told the paper. "She was always happy and smiley... And her friends always (kind of) counted on her for that—to pick them up when they were down."
