Stanley Cup Making Stops in Western Springs and Burr Ridge

Also: See the White Sox while benefitting Greater La Grange YMCA Special Olympics and celebrate National Hot Dog Day.

Blackhawks fans rejoice: The Stanley Cup will be making two nearby stops Tuesday. It will be at McClure Junior High in Western Springs from noon to 2 p.m. The event is only for District 101 families and staff … but you’ve got a cousin there who would let you come with, right? (Wink, wink.) There will be a more public display at 7 p.m. when the cup arrives at Capri Ristorante in Burr Ridge for a party on the patio. All are welcome.

See the Sox, help Special O: The Greater La Grange YMCA is partnering with the Chicago White Sox Wednesday for an evening benefitting the local Special Olympics swim and bowling teams. Meet at the old YMCA parking lot at La Grange and Ogden at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Sixty bucks gets you a ride to U.S. Cellular Field on a luxury bus (with snacks!) and tickets to the game. Get your tickets at the Y or by emailing Diana Clinton at dclinton@ymcachicago.org.

It’s National Hot Dog Day: Fire up the grill or head to a nearby restaurant (Komb’s is my family’s favorite) for National Hot Dog Day. If you want to celebrate on the cheap, 7-Eleven is giving out free Big Bite hot dogs when you download its app and show the coupon. The 7-Eleven in La Grange is located at 47th Street and La Grange Road.
