David Brown will appear in court Wednesday for the 2009 murder of his 81-year-old aunt in La Grange Park

Brown, 51, was convicted Nov. 15 for the 2009 murder of his aunt, Gertrude Franklin, in her home at 1017 Barnsdale Road, according to La Grange Park officials.

The woman was severely beaten and died on November 12, 2009, from injuries she received during the assault, La Grange Park Police Chief Dan McCollum said.

A Cook County judge found Brown guilty on 13 charges, including 6 counts of first degree murder. Brown, who was on parole in 2009 when the crime was committed, has been in custody since his arrest.
