La Grange Considers Restaurant Tax for 2014-15 Budget

The tax would generate an estimated $350,000 for the village, the Chicago Tribune reports.

La Grange Village Board members on Monday will hear information about a proposed restaurant tax of one percent that could generate about $350,000 for the village, the Chicago Tribune reports

The village in recent years has cut staff in its police, fire and public works departments, and needs the new tax for fiscal year 2014-15, according to the paper. Without it, the village may need to eliminate two police officers, or about $200,000, from its budget.
