DESCRIPTION:Experience the invasion of XTREME BUGS at Brookfield Zoo&rsqu
 o\;s summerlong  temporary exhibit of epic proportions that will feature
  everything from  Xtra-large animatronic bugs\, including a 16-foot-high
  by 33-foot-long  Japanese hornet displayed at the zoo&rsquo\;s Roosevel
 t Fountain\, to Xtra-small  live insects.  Beginning Saturday\, May 19\,
  zoogoers will be able to walk along a  winding trail and view 22 state-
 of-the-art gigantic animatronic bugs:  from a fluttering Monarch butterf
 ly and ladybug to a praying mantis and  giant Madagascar hissing cockroa
 ch. In addition there will be more than  150 stationary insects\, which 
 will be part of six themed scenes\,  including bees pollinating\, spider
 s hunting\, ants feasting upon a  scorpion\, and cicadas hatching.  Gues
 ts can also see live creepy crawlies in Harry's Big Adventure: My  Bug W
 orld! presented by Terminix. The exhibit will allow guests to  journey t
 hrough the habitats of some of the smallest&mdash\;yet most  important&m
 dash\;critters. The interactive habitats feature several ecosystems  suc
 h as a cropland\, forest\, meadow\, and swamp as well as a life-size  ho
 use to show how insects impact their surroundings\, the environment\,  a
 nd human lives.  Xciting activities\, including bug cooking demonstratio
 ns\,  cockroach races\, a spider web climber\, an Xtreme Bugs Dig Statio
 n\,  presented by JULIE\, Inc.\, and other bug-themed entertainment is p
 lanned  for guests throughout the summer
