Where to Watch Fireworks Around La Grange

Want to celebrate the Fourth of July with a BANG? Take a look at where your can catch firework displays in the La Grange area, including a guide to Oak Brook and Pleasant Dale firework displays.

There are lots of options for La Grange and La Grange Park residents to catch some amazing firework displays. Take look at some close by locations. If we missed a great show, let us know and we'll add it!

All these events are actually on July 3, which means you'll still have the Fourth of July to spend some quality one-on-one time with your grill, er, I mean your family.

Waiola Park, La Grange

Families who are not members of the have been heading to to catch the clubs yearly show on July 3 from outside the gates. It's loosely organized and community driven in the best possible way!

When: Fireworks start at 9 p.m.

Where: Waiola Park, 47th Street and Waiola Avenue in La Grange.

Why Go: Neighbors, neighbors, neighbors. People who live in the area close by largely attend this, so you'll see lots of familiar faces. Kids can play and the park, and WLTL Radio— station—will be providing tunes and rocking out in the park. They'll also be syncing a musical accompaniment with the show in the sky. Expect to share the park with between 300-500 others, said Dean Bissias, executive director of the La Grange Park District.

How Much: Free

Pleasant Dale Fireworks, Burr Ridge

The Pleasant Dale Park District puts on a great show each year on July 3 in Burr Ridge. I've been to these before, and it's always a ton of fun. There are big crowds though, so be prepared to park and walk with your cooler and folding chairs. There is parking in a nearby lot and can be purchased for $20, if they're not all taken.

When: Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m., but the park opens for festivities at 5 p.m.

Where: .

Why Go: A big crowd, a big fireworks display, sno-cones, Ledo's Pizza, popcorn, Sma's hot dogs and polish sausage, funnel cakes and a whole lot more. They really go all out!

How Much: Free

Taste of Oak Brook, Oak Brook

Oak puts on a full days worth of events in celebration of the Fourth of July on July 3 at the Oak Brook Polo Grounds, located on 31st Street between Spring and York roads.

When: Taste of Oak Brook begins at 2 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m. Fireworks begin around 9:30 p.m.

Where: Oak Brook Polo Grounds on 31st Street between Spring and York roads.

Why Go: There are a lot of reasons to go out to this one. The Taste will feature some of Oak Brook and the surrounding area's fine dining establishments. Restaurants on hand to offer some delicious samples include: Freshii, Gibson's Steak House, Grotto, , Kona Grill, Labriola Bakery Café, Pinstripes, Tuscany and Ravioli Oli.

There's also a ton of live music from bands and DJs. Catch sets by Chris Green, Jazz, from 2-4 p.m.; Vito Zatto, Vegas-style singer/entertainer from 4:30–5:30 p.m.; and Hi Infidelity from 6–8 p.m. A DJ set will begin just in time for the firework display.

Earlier in the day, there are a variety of kids activities, including a petting zoo, "bounce jump," face painting and balloon animals.

How Much: tickets for food cost $1 each, with most food and beverage items costing between 2 and 7 tickets.

On-site parking is available for $10. There is also parking available at the Christ Church parking lot, 31st Street and York Road.

In the event of rain, fireworks will be rescheduled to July 4 at 9:30 p.m.
