Starting Oct. 5 various merchants in La Grange and La Grange Park will offer senor discounts to people over 60 years of age. The discounts could be a percentage off, a buy one/get one offer or a reduced rate. A card describing the program will be displayed near the cashier at the participating business. To receive the discount the shopper just needs to inquire about the program to obtain the offer at checkout.

The Senior Discount Program was initiated by the La Grange/La Grange Park Aging Well Community Action Team, a program of Aging Care Connections, 1 W. Harris Ave. The program is endorsed by the La Grange Business Association, the La Grange Park Business Association and their respective Villages.

“This program is a good opportunity to let our senior citizens know how much we value their business and their good will,” said Ryan Williamson, president, La Grange Business Association.

Debra Verschelde, executive director of Aging Care Connections added, “We are pleased to partner with the La Grange Business Association to offer seniors more reasons to shop locally, in addition to the convenience. In our economy, seniors are very appreciative when their dollars go further.”
