Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to Hit 250,000 Customers This Summer
Expected to hit 250,000 customers this summer and celebrating 10 years in La Grange this August, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory prepares with prizes and events.
It's gearing up to be a sweet summer at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in La Grange. Not only is the business celebrating its 10th anniversary in August, the store is expected to serve its 250,000 customer this summer too.
"We wanted to make a great, big deal out of our 10th anniversary," said owner Jean Kuhn about their summer celebration.
The store's 250,000 customer is going to have a reason to celebrate as well. Kuhn said La Grange's small business community was incredibly generous in support of the store's anniversary.
"I was completely overwhelmed with their love," Kuhn said, "and we've got some great stuff to give to the winner."
The lucky chocolate shopper will be awarded $250 in store credit from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, as well as a gift basket worth over $2,500 that is overflowing with gifts from other La Grange businesses including Consign and Redesign, 46 South Salon, Francesca's Bellazza, Linnea Jewelers and McDonalds, who will be giving away a free drink/ice cream a day for a month! Not bad, considering the hot weather we've had this year.
Linnea Jewelers' gift is sure to make your mouth water too—but don't eat it. The jewelry store is giving away a Chocolate Pandora bracelet worth $470.
For their 10th anniversary in August, Rocky Mountain will be doing some special in-store promotions as well. Chocolate prices will be rolled back 10 years to $18.95 per pound ($3 off) and the store's famous caramel apples will be discounted $1. Additionally, every customer who shops at the store in August will get a chance to participate in a raffle, and win a prize every time!
Want your kids to learn how to make chocolate treats for you? They can learn from the Rock Mountain masters in a series of classes being offered to kids who want a peek at life in the chocolate business in August as well.
"We're really excited about everything," Kuhn said. "Time has flown by!"
Now if only we could count the years in chocolate bars!

HI Matthew,
Thank you for the great article. I do need to make a couple corrections. We are rolling the prices back $3 per lb. to $18.95 which is what they were 10 years ago, not to $3 per pound.
Also, our 250,000th customer will happen in July, we are watching that number closely, and the Gift Basket is now worth over $2500. Thanks to some really great business owners in LaGrange.
