OMG PD: Coyote Attack, Smoke Bomber, Drive-by Egging

Here's a round-up of recent and bizarre police report items from the area.

 

DOWNERS GROVE

Coyote Attacks Dog

A dog was attacked by a coyote in the 5300 block of Meadow Lane in Downers Grove on Oct. 15, police said.

A man was standing in his front yard around 6:30 a.m. when he heard his Havanese dog whimper, police said. When the man looked to see what had happened, he saw a coyote running northbound from the area with the dog in its jaws.

The dog was 12 years old, weighed 11 pounds and was unleashed, police said.

LA GRANGE

Police: Bike Thief Caught in the Act

Jamal D. Williams, 21, of the 7300 block of Winthrop Way, Downers Grove, was charged with attempted theft after a resident of the 500 block of South La Grange Road reported at 4:46 p.m. that he was chasing two men who had taken his bike from his backyard, police said. Police arrested Williams but did not arrest a companion.

HINSDALE

Smoke Bomber Caught

Liam J. Sorensen, 18, of the 100 block of south East Avenue, Oak Park, was charged with disorderly conduct and illegal consumption of alcohol at 10 p.m., police said. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol when he was found with a smoke bomb similar to one set off underneath the home bleachers at Hinsdale Central’s Dickinson Field during Friday night’s playoff football game against Oak Park-River Forest, police said.

Sorensen admitted to setting off the smoke bomb. He was released to appear in court.

CLARENDON HILLS

Drive-by Egging

Someone in a white SUV threw eggs at a home in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue at 8:36 p.m. Police said the car was heading westbound on Ridge when the incident occurred.

WOODRIDGE

Underpass Graffiti

The entire wall of an underpass connecting Lake Harriet to Lake Carlton was spray painted with graffiti.

I knew that was not a realistic outcome. Especially when he saw the dog being carried away... But was hoping for the owners sake, "maybe".
