Man Gets 5 Tickets, Admits Driving Drunk

The following item is from Patch's reporting of the La Grange Park police blotter.

A Joliet man was charged with driving under the influence and four other traffic violations after La Grange Park police said he failed several field sobriety tests on Jan. 7 and then told officers, “Yeah, I’m drunk.”

Paul G. Leduc, 52, of the 100 block of Stryker Avenue, had a breath-alcohol content of .125, police said. He was ticketed for driving under the influence; driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of more than the legal limit of .08; speeding; no insurance; and a lane violation.

A police officer going south on La Grange Road at about 12:37 a.m. reported a green car going north at a high speed, later determined to be 48 mph in a 30-mph zone. The officer said the car changed lanes three times but stayed between the center and curb lanes.

When stopped, the driver had bloodshot, glassy eyes and an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, police said. He told an officer he had three to five beers in the southern suburbs and said he thought he was going west on La Grange Road, a north-south street, police said.
