La Grange Park Marine Recovers from Bomb Blast
Marine Lance Cpl. Josh Misiewicz lost both his legs and his hearing was seriously damaged in the blast in Afghanistan.
The Doings reports that Marine Lance Cpl. Josh Misiewicz of La Grange Park is recovering stateside after he stepped on a bomb in Afghanistan in July.
Misiewicz, a 2006 graduate of Lyons Township High School, is an outpatient at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.
His mother, Nancy Misiewicz, said her son is surgically healed and is being outfitted for prosthetic legs. She said it will take seven months to a year before he's healed.
Josh Misiewicz was deployed in March with the 1st Battalion of the 5th Marine Regiment in Operation Enduring Freedom.
