The La Grange Police Department announced on Friday that they have arrested a 59-year-old La Grange church pastor for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

The Reverend Donald R. Jung, 59, of the 100 block of East Avenue, was arrested at an unspecified time following allegations of "inappropriate and illegal sexual contact between Jung and a juvenile," according to a release.

The website of the Second Baptist Church of La Grange lists Rev. Jung as its head pastor. The church is located in the northeast neighborhood of La Grange on Washington Avenue.

"La Grange investigators worked with criminal justice and medical authorities to examine the claims," the police release said. "After collecting and evaluating all of the data and evidence available, the case was presented to the felony review division of the Cook County State Attorney's Office.

"Subsequently, the charge was approved."

According to the Doings La Grange, Second Baptist church leadership expressed shock at the allegations against Rev. Jung.

“That’s not the man I know. He’s an honest person,” church minister Rev. Lynn Lacey told the paper. "We're asking that people pray for him and his family... The church is standing behind him."

Jung will face a bond court on Saturday at the Cook County Courthouse Criminal Division (26th & California).

The age of the victim was not immediately released. La Grange police said that no further details were available at this time.
