Blotter: Police Could Not Find Man Reported to be Selling Drugs at 7th Avenue School
The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.
Man Selling Drugs at Seventh Avenue School?
A man selling drugs on the playground at Seventh Avenue School, 701 S. Seventh Ave., was reported to La Grange police at about 3:12 p.m. on Jan. 12. The caller later said the man left before officers arrived.
White Jeep Drives Through Field at Spring Avenue
A white Jeep occupied by multiple teens was reported driving through the field in the school lot at Spring Avenue, 1001 S. Spring Ave., at about 9:09 p.m. Jan. 14. The vehicle last was seen going east on 53rd Street from Catherine, but La Grange police said they could not find it. An officer found beer bottles in that area.
Switching Electric Service?
A resident of the 400 block of south Madison Avenue told La Grange police at about 2:50 p.m. Jan. 13 that a man came to her door claiming to be from ComEd and wanting to see one of her bills. The woman refused and called ComEd, who said no one from the company was soliciting in the area. Police found the man on the 300 block of Madison and learned he works for Constellation Energy. The company said it will stop soliciting and someone will pick up its workers.
Car Drives on Lawn
A resident of the 400 block of Eighth Avenue reported at about 4:58 p.m. Jan. 13 that a blue Navigator drove on her front lawn and almost hit a neighbor’s tree. No permanent damage was reported to the lawn.
Suspicious Walkers
Three males, one apparently smoking from a “‘bowl” were reported walking south on Spring Avenue from 50th Street at about 11:36 p.m. Jan. 12. They were wearing dark hoodies, but police could not find them
Man Slapping Passing Cars
A 22-year-old Countryside man was picked by La Grange police after he was reported standing in the street on La Grange Road at Harris Avenue at about 1:42 a.m. Jan. 13 and hitting cars as they drove by. He was brought to 57th Street and La Grange Road and told officers he would go home for the night.
Gas Stolen
An unspecified amount of gasoline was stolen from the Shell station at 4701 Gilbert Rd., La Grange police learned at about 6:48 p.m. Jan. 13.
Music Too Loud
A 40-year-old man on the 900 block of south Eighth Avenue was ticketed under a village ordinance after La Grange police responded at about 1:05 a.m. Jan. 16 to a call of loud music from his apartment.
Kids Love Mickey D’s
A group of kids who refused to leave the inside of the McDonalds at 100 N. La Grange Rd. at about 7:16 p.m. Jan. 15 were sent on their way by La Grange police.
