Blotter: Lender Sworn At, Dumpster Diving and More

The following items are from Patch's reporting on the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotter.

 

Lender Sworn At

A La Grange resident told police Feb. 2 he went to Starbuck’s, 38 S. La Grange Rd., and saw someone he knows who he had lent $2 to about two months ago. When the resident asked the man about it, he said the other person swore at him.

Graffiti Seen at Park Sign

Graffiti was reported at about 12:41 p.m. Feb. 5 on a sign at Stone Park, Bell and Stone avenues. The park district was notified.

Dumpster Diver

Investigating an unoccupied vehicle in the alley behind Magic Wok, 23 W. Harris Ave., at about 3:44 a.m. Feb. 4, a police officer found a 63-year-old Melrose Park man going through the garbage cans. He was sent on his way.

Cars of Kids Suspicious

Possible drug activity was suspected by a caller who reported cars full of kids behind a home on the 400 block of East Avenue at about 9:53 p.m. Feb. 2.  Police stopped one car at East and Maple avenues and ticketed two La Grange men, ages 23 and 21, inside for failing to wear a seat belt.

House TPed

A home on the 500 block of south Spring Avenue was covered with toilet paper, La Grange police learned at about 9:15 p.m. Feb. 5 while investigating another, unconfirmed call.

Kids Shooed from McDonald’s

Someone at McDonald’s, 100 N. La Grange Rd., called La Grange police at about  9:50 p.m. Feb. 3 to send away 10 to 12 kids who were inside. An officer said the youths were sent on their way and one boy, 15, no longer is allowed at that McDonald’s.
