Blotter: DUIs, an Unruly Train Rider and More

The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.

 

DUI Tickets

Jose R. Pena, 38, of Chicago was ticketed for driving under the influence at Benton and Bluff avenues at about 3:09 a.m. Jan. 29.

George Alvarez, 49, of Chicago was ticketed by La Grange police for driving under the influence after they stopped his car at 47th Street and Eighth  Avenue at about 2:20 a.m. Jan. 28.

Robert Flores, 34, of Cicero was ticketed on drunk-driving charges after La Grange police stopped his car at 47th Street and Ninth Avenue at about 2:53 a.m. Jan. 27. He was ticketed for disobeying a stop sign, driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08 and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Newspaper Stolen

A resident of the 700 block of Seventh Avenue reported at about 11:12 a.m. Jan 28 that a Wall Street Journal newspaper was stolen from outside the home.

Train Rider Unruly

A Metra commuter train stopped at the La Grange Road station at about 11:13 a.m. Jan. 28 to let off an unruly passenger, who then was brought to the La Grange police station to wait for a ride.

Boy Hurt in Gym

A 14-year-old boy who possibly dislocated his arm in the gymnasium of Gurrie Middle School, 1001 S. Spring Ave., was taken by La Grange Fire Department ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 5:40 p.m. Jan. 26.

Two Tickets Issued

A 32-year-old River Grove man got two traffic tickets after La Grange Park police saw his blue Ford pickup truck, with an expired license sticker, going north on La Grange Road near 31st Street at about 9:44 a.m. Jan. 20. Elvis Gonzalez was ticketed for expired sticker and driving while his license is expired for more than one year–since Aug. 10, 2009.

Snowball Breaks Window

Someone threw a snowball at and broke a window of a home on the 500 block of Maple Avenue at about 3:45 a.m. Jan. 29.

Woman Locked Out

A woman called police at about 12:32 a.m. Jan. 28 to say she is locked out of her house on the 200 block of south Spring Avenue and her husband was not answering the doorbell. She had broken a pane of glass at the back door before police arrived to try to enter the home. Police also could not contact the possibly sleeping husband. The woman planned to stay with a neighbor until later that morning.
