Blotter: An Annoying Bell-Ringer, Hurt Cat and More

The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.

 

Bell-Ringer Annoying

A resident of a building on the 0-100 block of Beacon Place refused to let in a man who kept ringing their buzzer at about 1:13 a.m. Feb. 17. The man said it was an emergency and he needed to be let in. The resident said he man sounded intoxicated.

Purse Found

A purse full of various items was found in the bushes at about 5:04 p.m. Feb. 18 at Stone Park, Stone and Elm avenues.

Vehicle Egged

A resident of the 1100 block of Hillgrove Avenue reported at about 9:19 a.m. Feb. 18 that his parents’ vehicle had been hit by thrown eggs.

Smoke Smelled

The La Grange Fire Department provided mutual aid for a smell of smoke in a building on the 500 block of north Ashland Avenue in La Grange Park at about 9:22 a.m. Feb. 17.

Checks Fraudulent

A La Grange woman told police Feb. 18 that several fraudulent had been written on the checking account and the in name of her uncle, for whom she has power of attorney.

Cat Injured

An injured brown cat found by the curb on the 100 block of Bassford at about 11:18 a.m. Feb. 18 was brought to Hinsdale Animal Hospital and would be euthanized, police said.

Box Found, Destroyed

A brown box of perishable items that possibly had fell off a truck was found on the street near the curb on northbound LaGrange Road near the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks at about 7:15 a.m. Feb. 17. A police officer disposed of the box.    

Bike Hits Car

A bicyclist disobeyed a stop sign at 314 E. Lincoln and struck the rear of a car at about 4:31 p.m. Feb. 19, La Grange police said. An ambulance crew examined the bicyclist.

Two Hit-and-Runs Reported

The rear of a 2011 Acura MDX owned by a La Grange woman was struck by an unknown vehicle in the Walgreen’s lot, 25 N. LaGrange Road, between 11:15  and 11:52 a.m. Feb. 14.

An unknown vehicle struck the left front of a 1995 BMW driven by a Downers Grove woman on Harris Avenue about 30 feet west of La Grange Road at about 9:57 p.m. Feb. 10.
