YMCA Open House welcomes community to try services
The Greater LaGrange YMCA held an open house Jan. 21 in the La Grange Park facility and there was something for evveryone. Massages all morning, fitness and a large variety of children's classes, hot chocolate, apple slices, oatmeal and even a visit from Ronald McDonald were among the highlights of the day.
Massages were courtesy of Clancy, who regularly provides massages for YMCA members Monday mornings from 8 to 10 and Wednesday afternoons from 2 to 4. Apple slices and Ronald McDonald were courtesy of the La Grange McDonald's on the corner of La Grange Road and Ogden Avenue and the free classes were courtesy of all the wonderful fitness and preschool/educational instructors at the YMCA.
"We wanted to let the community see all the YMCA has to offer," said Bridgette Letizia, executive director. "We also wanted to thank all our members for being loyal, to let them know we appreciate them. It was a busy day filled with activities and everyone seemed to be having a great time."

It was a nice surprise when we got to the Y for our usual Saturday workouts. My husband and son did the treadmill, bikes and weights while I did my favorite workout - Zumba - which I've been doing at the Y since it started around 2007. The snacks and hot chocolate were yummy! I would have loved a chair massage, but we had such a busy day planned that I didn't have time to get one. Thanks Y staff!
Great pics Mrs. Lovejoy-Voss! Love the one of Ronald McDonald working out!
